Alum Thomas G. Coley named chancellor of Ivy Tech
The head of a community college in Iowa has been chosen to lead Ivy Tech Community College’s North Central region. Dr. Thomas G. Coley (’74, political science) will begin his new duties serving Elkhart, Kosciusko, Marshall and St. Joseph counties June 1. He succeeds Dr. Virginia Calvin, who retired earlier this year. Coley has served since 2005 as president of Scott Community College in Scott County, Iowa, part of the East Iowa Community College District.
Coley earned his Doctorate degree in Education Administration and Master’s degree in Political Science from the University of Wisconsin. He earned his Bachelor’s degree in Political Science from Moorhead State University in Minnesota.
