MSUM Service Challenge underway
All student groups and organizations at MSUM are invited to participate in the month-long Service Challenge in honor of Martin Luther King Jr. Day and Black History Month. Student groups and organizations will donate hours to community service organizations (preferably organizations that serve underrepresented groups). Hours will be tallied weekly, with prizes going to the top-serving student groups!
Students can kick off their month of service by attending the MLK day speaker, Hasani Pettiford, on Tuesday, January 18 at 7 PM in the CMU Ballroom. Student groups will track their own service from January 18 – February 18, and these student volunteers and change agents will be recognized at a ceremony at the end of February.
Student volunteers are also encouraged to submit photographs and reflections on their service to the Multicultural Affairs office: multicultural@mnstate.edu. This month of service challenge is a collaboration sponsored by the Multicultural Affairs Office, Housing, and Academic Engagement. Contact Jered Pigeon (jered.pigeon@mnstate.edu), Jeremy Page (page@mnstate.edu), or Janet Haak
(haak@mnstate.edu) for further information.
