Employee flu clinic is Oct. 6
Protect yourself and others by getting your seasonal flu vaccine next week—Wednesday, October 6. The seasonal flu shot and nasal spray flu vaccine are available with no out-of-pocket cost to all state employees at workplace clinics who present their Minnesota Advantage Health Plan member ID card. It’s convenient. The seasonal influenza vaccination workplace clinic will be held at OWENS HALL, Room 207 (C) from 7 a.m. to 2 p.m. No appointments are necessary. Note: You must come prior to 2 p.m., as the group will need to leave for another location.
Don’t forget to have your Health Insurance ID/Card with you. If you do not bring a valid card, the cost is $24 for the seasonal flu shot and $32 for the nasal spray seasonal flu vaccine.
NOTE: Seasonal flu shot clinics are considered worksite activities and are designed for the convenience of state employees. Family members can receive their seasonal flu shots through their regular health care provider. The state is offering worksite seasonal flu shots to employees to make it easier for them to receive the shot without taking time from work to do.
A limited supply of the nasal spray flu vaccine is available at our workplace clinics for employees whose health status meets criteria for prescribed use. If you decide to receive your nasal spray flu vaccination elsewhere, such as your primary care clinic or a convenience clinic, check with your heath plan about cost and coverage.
If you are unable to attend this clinic, check for clinics being held at other state agencies throughout Minnesota. Employees may attend any available state agency flu shot clinic, with the exception of the correctional facility sites. (Correction facility flu clinics will only provide vaccinations to employees of that facility.) Clinics are on a “walk-in” basis, so you do not need an appointment. Please keep in mind, if you attend a clinic at another agency, you may have to check-in at security or an information area. Clinic Schedule: http://www.mmb.state.mn.us/flu
