Historical treasure found

Time capsule discovered in oldest campus building

There was a remarkable discovery last Friday that is of great historical significance to MSU Moorhead. Workers renovating Lommen Hall, unexpectedly came across the corner stone for Weld Hall—the two buildings are joined. Within the stone was a time capsule in the form of a large sheet metal box. Weld Hall was constructed in 1916.

On Tuesday, Aug. 17 at 12:45 p.m., we will open the contents of the time capsule on the stage of Glasrud Auditorium in Weld Hal. There will be projection equipment to enlarge the view for audience members. University archivist Dr. Terry Shoptaugh will assist.
