Teaching online? New media codes you need to know

Information for Department Chairs, Program Coordinators, and Faculty Teaching Online: New Media Codes–MnSCU has made several changes to the media codes that are of particular interest to those teaching online. You may want to begin using these media codes for Fall 2010 courses. They clarify some things for students as the register for classes. Instead of coding all online courses as media code 03, you may want to look at the new media codes 12 and 13. Click headline for more information.

Paralegal Professor Parses Passion

They don’t call her the boot camp drill sergeant of the paralegal department for nothing. Judy Streich, a professor at Minnesota State University Moorhead, earned the nickname for her intense assignments and thorough paper reviews. “I order red pens by the case,” Streich laughingly admitted. April 12-16 is Student Employment Appreciation Week

Each year, MSUM, along with colleges and universities across the country, recognizes the importance of student work experience during Student Employment Appreciation Week. This week draws the awareness of others to the contributions student workers make in the multitude of roles they fill. Please get involved and show your student employees how much you appreciate all they do for you.

Living Will/Health Care Directive

A Health Care Directive is the document that directs your medical treatment when you can’t speak for yourself. The Elder Law class (Para 416) has, as part of an academic service-learning project, drafted health care directives for area residents for the last five years.
