Author Rachel Coyne at MSUM Tuesday

Rachel Coyne, author of the novel Whiskey Heart (New Rivers Press, 2009), will read from her work at 8 p.m. Tuesday, March 30 as a feature of MSUM’s Tom McGrath Visiting Writers Series. She’ll also give a talk on the writers’ craft at 4 p.m. that day. Both events will be held in Comstock Memorial Union 101.

Coyne is a graduate of the Perpich Center for Arts Education, a public arts high school in Golden Valley, Minnesota. She earned a BA in International Studies and French from Macalester College in St. Paul, and a JD from the Washington College of Law at American University. She also is the author of a children’s book-length poem, Daughter, Have I Told You? (Henry Holt & Co., 1998).

Since 2005, Coyne has worked as a research attorney in municipal law for the League of Minnesota Cities. She lives in Lindstrom, Minn.
