Social networking to generate business topic of MSUM workshops

MSU Moorhead will offer two sessions in March on social networking to generate business. Topics include social marketing applications and etiquette, Facebook, Twitter, marketing strategies and driving traffic to web sites and blogs, among others. “Catch the Social Networking Wave: Tips and Terminology” will be from 12:30-4:30 p.m. Thursday, March 4 in the Science Lab 118. This session is for those new to social networking and want to learn how to leverage social networking sites to generate business. Cost for this session is $69. MSUM offers Understanding Generational Poverty for credit/non-credit

MSUM is offering a course on Understanding Generational Poverty this spring semester. The course will begin on Saturday, February 27 from 9:00 am – 4:00 pm with an introduction to the history of poverty, research, and how the condition of poverty can affect learning and work. It will continue Thursday evenings, March 4 & 11, 2010 from 6:00 – 9:00 pm with an in-depth look at those topics. Click headline for more information.

Mini-satellite Exhibit on the work of an Armenian Immigrant Artist

The Historical & Cultural Society of Clay County at the Hjemkomst Center is displaying a mini-satellite exhibit of Armenian immigrant artist Norick Astvatsaturov. This mini-exhibit displays photographs of Astvatsaturov’s work, including a Reliquary Icon and Bible Cover, as well as a ten minute documentary that was made about his life and work. The Hjemkomst Center is located at 202 First Avenue North in Moorhead. The exhibit ends April 7.

MSUM Theatre presents Hamlet February 24 through 27 at 7:30 p.m. in the Roland Dille Center for the Arts Gaede Stage. “To be, or not to be?”

African Drum & Dance Workshops Feb. 27-28

An African Drum and Dance Workshop, with guest artists Fode Bangoura, master Guinean drummer/dancer and Whitney McClusky, Duniya Drum and Dance Studio, and featuring the Minnesota State University Moorhead Percussion Studio, will be held Saturday, Feb. 27 from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. and Sunday, Feb. 28 from 2 to 5 p.m. in the Roland Dille Center for the Arts.
