Jazz artist in residence, performing at MSUM Feb. 8-9

Ben Allison, a “visionary composer, adventurous improviser, and strong organizational force on the New York jazz scene,” will be an artist-in-residence at MSUM Feb. 8-9. The Ben Allison Band will perform Monday, Feb. 8 at 8 p.m. in the Center for the Arts Hansen Theatre. Admission is $10; free to students with ID (under 21 welcome). Earn summer credit studying in Washington

Pacific Northwest Ecology (Bio 308-1) is a TRAVEL course that counts for 3 credits of DC10. Students travel to Washington state and experience alpine, rocky intertidal, beach, mountain and forest habitats, and study native culture in relation to the environment. DragonFrost is February 8-12

Dragon Frost is a week of activities in February for the MSUM community to have some fun and chase away the winter blahs. Events are organized by the Homecoming/DragonFrost committee and the Office of Student Activities. DragonFrost activities include: A Snow Court Royalty selection (much like Homecoming’s King and Queen selection only this time freshmen and sophomores are candidates for royalty), free chili, snow shoe races, snow sculpting, mind reading, office decorating and the CMU’s One Ton Ice Cream Sundae.
