MSUM Planetarium showing “Bear Tales” through March 8

The Minnesota State University Moorhead Planetarium will show “Bear Tales” Sundays at 2 p.m. and Mondays at 7 p.m. Jan. 17 through March 8.

Four hundred years ago, Galileo fitted two small pieces of glass into a tube and pointed it to the sky. The wonders that he observed changed our view of the heavens forever. This year, astronomers are celebrating the anniversary of that event by inviting everyone to look through a telescope. “Bear Tales” follows two young astronomers at a star party as they learn how telescopes work, the history of telescopes, and the major discoveries made by these instruments.

General admission is $3; children 12 years of age and under, senior citizens and Tri-College students are admitted for $1.50. For more information or a special group showing, call 218.477.2920.

The Planetarium is located at 11th Street and 8th Avenue South, on the MSUM campus in Bridges Hall 167.
