Instructional Technology Services — January 2010 Workshops for Design of Online Instruction

Please note the following two opportunities to participate in a workshop about designing online instruction. One will be a face-to-face opportunity (limited to 6 participants) and the other will be an online workshop (limited to 10 participants).

What:     Design of Online Instruction Workshop — Opportunities for Spring semester

When:    Wed, Jan 6 – Fri, Jan 8 from 12:30-3:30

Description:

NOTE: In order to be eligible for course development funding from MSUM’s Distance Education Fee,participation in this 3-part series of workshops is required.

Part 1: During this 3-hour session, participants will examine existing online classes, review quality standards for online classes, and explore applications that assist with the design of online instructional materials, including some free and easy-to-use Web 2.0 applications.

Part 2: During this 3-hour session, participants will investigate techniques for designing an online unit of instruction, including applications that support collaboration, and interactive activities.

Part 3: This 3-hour session will present ideas for innovative assessments and best practices and tips for teaching online.
