Kenyon Williams, Music, percussionist, had an active summer as a representative and recruiter for the MSUM Department of Music while he presented performances and clinics across North Dakota. In June, Dr. Williams was invited to work with students at the Yamaha “Sounds of Summer” percussion workshop in Williston, N.D., where he worked with 50+ high school students from North Dakota and Montana. He then spent three weeks teaching at the International Music Camp at the International Peace Garden, where he worked with over 150 students ages 10-65 from across the United States, Canada, and 20 foreign countries on classical, jazz, and world percussion concepts. In addition to teaching, he performed as a member of the Kaganu Percussion Quartet in a formal International Peace Garden concert where he was featured as a concerto soloist with the IMC Faculty String Orchestra. His work at both IMC and Williston is currently being highlighted on the Latin Percussion (LP) website, an international percussion retailer of which Dr. Williams is an endorser:
