Minnesota State female presidents’ commentary featured in The Chronicle of Higher Education

President Anne Blackhurst, along with Joyce Ester, president of Normandale Community College; Connie Gores, president of Southwest Minnesota State University; and Barbara McDonald, president of North Hennepin Community College, wrote a commentary featured in The Chronicle of Higher Education. The commentary is titled, “The Benefits of Gender Balance in a System’s Presidential Offices.” 

Zepper to read poetry today at Southwest Minnesota State University

Professor Kevin Zepper, English, will be at Southwest Minnesota State University Visiting Writers Series on Monday, March 24 for a poetry reading. Kevin Zepper, author of “Sugartown” and three other chapbooks, will read from Noon – 1 p.m. at the Marshall-Lyon County Library and from 7-8 p.m. at SMSU, Charter Hall 201. Zepper teaches at Minnesota State University Moorhead.

Study under way to assess higher educational needs in southwest Minnesota

Interim president will be appointed next year at Southwest Minnesota State University The Minnesota State Colleges and Universities system has launched a study of regional higher educational needs in southwest Minnesota to determine if there is a better way to align educational programs and services offered by Southwest Minnesota State University and Minnesota West Community and Technical College, officials said Friday.
