Minnesota State female presidents’ commentary featured in The Chronicle of Higher Education

President Anne Blackhurst, along with Joyce Ester, president of Normandale Community College; Connie Gores, president of Southwest Minnesota State University; and Barbara McDonald, president of North Hennepin Community College, wrote a commentary featured in The Chronicle of Higher Education. The commentary is titled, “The Benefits of Gender Balance in a System’s Presidential Offices.”

MnSCU honors outstanding achievement in diversity programs and services

Seven colleges and universities within the Minnesota State Colleges and Universities system are being honored for outstanding achievements in diversity. The colleges and universities that were honored are Anoka-Ramsey Community College, Bemidji State University, Century College, North Hennepin Community College, Metropolitan State University, St. Cloud State University and Winona State University.

MSUM targets Twins Cities community colleges

An explosion in community college enrollment in the Twin Cities promises to bolster numbers for Minnesota State University Moorhead.

Jessica Endres, one of three MSUM Admissions counselors in the Twin Cities, said MSUM’s growing presence in the population center is bringing attention to Moorhead.

O’Brien appointed president of North Hennepin Community College

John O’Brien was appointed president of North Hennepin Community College in Brooklyn Park today by the Minnesota State Colleges and Universities Board of Trustees.O’Brien, 47, is currently on leave from his position as academic vice president and chief academic officer at Century College to direct the “Students First” project, a Minnesota State Colleges and Universities system initiative to improve student services.
