Economics student accepted to Applied Economics program at Illinois State University Urbana-Champaign, receives scholarship

Cody Brandt, Economics major, was accepted to the Master’s in Applied Economics program at Illinois State University Urbana-Champaign. Cody was offered a full scholarship and an assistantship worth well over $45,000. This is the fourth consecutive year Economics majors from MSU Moorhead have been accepted to this very prestigious master’s program.

Economics Department involved in Winter Institute

Economics faculty member, Dr. Gregory Stutes, and six members of the Economic Society student organization (Fanuel Asrat, Kofi Boadu, Cody Brandt, Jed Eix, Jasmin Lam, and Taylor Rodriguez) attended the 52nd Winter Institute in St. Cloud February 12-13. Dr. Stutes presented a workshop for high school economics teachers, “Technology, the Lemonade Stand, and Economics.”

Economics Department visits Cargill

Economics Department 2010 alumnus, Jena Thompson, hosted ten MSUM Economics students (Cody Brandt, Kofi Boadu, Victoria Duncan, Jed Eix, Rachel Hettich, Jasmin Lam, Wen Kai Ling, Ilerioluwa Oyebanjo, Diamond Stokes, and You Wang) and four faculty members (Drs. Dobis, Greenley, Hansen, and Stutes) at the Cargill Office Center on April 19 in Wayzata, Minn.
