Actors awarded at national theatre festival

Two MSUM theatre students gained national recognition at The Kennedy Center American College Theater Festival (KCACTF), held at the Kennedy Center for Performing Arts in Washington, D.C. in mid-April. Tyler Michaels, senior Theatre Arts major, was awarded the Dell’ Arte International School of Physical Training Program Fellowship and The Mark Twain Scholarship for Comic Performance. Economics students commit to grad schools, internships

The following 2010 Economics graduates have committed to the following graduate schools: Jena Thompson – Purdue University, full tuition and scholarship; Clay Kramer – University of Illinois, full tuition and scholarship; Mark Frenzel – Claremont Graduate School, scholarship; Alex Kangas – University of Utah; and James Teigland – William Mitchell Law School. Student Isaac Thomas will complete an internship in China with Shineray Motorcycyles, the first international internship completed by an MSUM student.

Film students host juried film exhibition

MSUM Film Studies will host the semi-annual Juried Film Exhibition at 7 p.m. Friday, May 7 in Weld Hall Glasrud Auditorium. The exhibition will showcase the best film and video work produced during the semester, as adjudicated by a panel consisting of alumni, local professionals and MSUM community members. Awards will be presented to students, and light refreshments will be served. The exhibition is free and open to the public.

Curtis Gudmundson to receive MSUM’s L.B. Hartz Award

Curtis Gudmundson, founder of Milestone Hotel Investments, will receive MSUM’s L.B. Hartz Professional Achievement Award. Gudmundson started his entrepreneurial pursuits during college, first as a rock band promoter and later as the owner of Mama Mia’s Pizza in Fargo. The two L.B.
