Angela Harvala, an alumna of Minnesota State University Moorhead, won the Milken Educator Award and $25,000 to spend however she wishes. She received a B.S. in elementary education in 2006. The Milken Educator Awards was conceived by the Milken Family Foundation to attract, retain and motivate outstanding talent to the teaching profession.
Kate Aarness, MSUM junior majoring in Theatre Arts with a Musical Theater emphasis, and student in the Honors Program, has been accepted into the British American Drama Academy in London for fall semester. In a conservatory setting, she will take courses from London theater professionals, and rehearse and perform in a working London theatre.
