Steve Grineski, STL, recently presented a paper titled, “The multi-dimensional lives of children who are homeless” at the International Conference for Academic Disciplines held at the American University of Rome, Italy. This paper detailed a 2-year ongoing study of the children and youth staying at a local homeless shelter.
Dr. David Tack, Teaching & Learning, presented his research at the National Association of Multicultural Educators conference in Tucson, Arizona. His study, “A Culturally Just Curriculum for Non-Native Teachers on a Reservation School,” was presented as part of the first day proceedings, and he had the opportunity to discuss publication with the three editors of the journal Multicultural Perspectives.
Michelle Sailer, art teacher at S.G. Reinertsen Elementary, has been named Minnesota’s 2014 Elementary Art Educator of the Year by the Art Educators of Minnesota. Sailer has been recognized by her professional association for her outstanding achievement and contributions to Reinertsen and Minnesota.
