The Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference has announced that Brett Beeson, who starred for the Minnesota State University Moorhead men’s basketball program in the 1990s, has been selected for a spot on the NSIC’s Top 25 team. Oscar Flores, Economics, presented the paper “The Impact of Participation in Learning Communities on Academic Performance an Retention” at the 43rd meetings of the Eastern Economic Association in New York City. Flores found preliminary evidence that participation in LCs at MSU Moorhead does increase the probability that students would return for the second year.
