“The Mystery of Markets,” a workshop developed by MSUM Economic Society members (Kofi Boadu, Cody Brandt, Tori Duncan, Hannah Frink, Rachel Hettich, Jasmine Lam, Anthony Lau, Ilerioluwa Oyebanjo, Diamond Stokes, and You Wang) and faculty advisors, T. J. Hansen and Gregory Stutes, was one of 48 workshops presented at the Expanding Your Horizons Conference April 6.
Dr. Deborah White, Department of Sociology and Criminal Justice, has been invited to participate in a conference at the White House April 22 as part of a new White House initiative to promote leadership and civic engagement among girls. White is coordinator of the Tri-College NEW Leadership Development Institute, an annual program designed to advance women’s civic and political participation.

Dr. Marilea Bramer, Philosophy, and Dr. Laura Odom, Philosophy, attended the Pacific Division of the American Philosophical Association Conference March 26-29, in San Francisco. Bramer commented on Stephen Palmquist’s paper, “Kantian Conditions for the Possibility of Justified Resistance to Authority?”; Odom attended sessions in her areas of specialization: Aesthetics, Consciousness, and Color Perception.
Kim Mollberg, School of Business, had an article “Making a “backdoor” Roth IRA contribution” published in the April 2013 edition of Journal of Accountancy. Published continuously since 1905, the Journal of Accountancy (with 386,000 paid subscriptions) is the flagship publication of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants.
