Sibley elected to Caldecott Committee

Carol Hanson Sibley, Curriculum Librarian, has been elected to the 2013 Caldecott Committee. This committee will select the Caldecott Award Winner and honor books for picture books published in 2012. The 2013 Award marks the 75th anniversary for the Caldecott Medal, which is named after the famous British illustrator, Randolph Caldecott.

Volunteers needed for Read Aloud Book Award committee

The Livingston Lord Library is looking for volunteers who are interested in serving on our children’s Read Aloud Book Award committee. Committee work includes evaluating new picture books, attending committee meetings and ultimately selecting the best read aloud picture books of 2011. Library features best-sellers of the 2000s

To conclude the Library’s 50th anniversary celebration, the Library is no featuring best-sellers of the 2000s. Titles now on display include “The Girl Who Played with Fire” by Stieg Larsson, “The Audacity of Hope” by Barack Obama, and “The Lovely Bones” by Alice Sebold.
