Mixed blood Theatre performs Dr. King’s Dream Jan. 13

The Umoja Student Association is hosting an educational event in remembrance of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. for the contributions that he has given to the concept of equality for all. The Mixed Blood Theatre will perform Dr. King’s Dream, A community celebration Wednesday, January 13 at 3 p.m. in the CMU Ballroom. It’s free and open to the public. Recent deaths

Erna Marie Swisher, age 89, passed away on Sunday, December 27, 2009, in Elim Home, Fargo. Erna started work at Moorhead State College in 1973 in Academic Affairs and then Continuing Education until her retirement in 1987. The funeral was Jan. 4, with arrangements by Hanson-Runsvold Funeral Home, Fargo. Kenneth Bladow, MSUM Assistant Professor of Health & Physical Education (Emeritus-1991), passed away December 23, 2009, at the age of 78, at his home in Moorhead. The funeral was Dec. 30 at the Korsmo Funeral Chapel, Moorhead.

MSUM Offers Digital Painting Introduction

MSU Moorhead is offering a two-credit course called Digital Painting on Friday afternoons from 1 to 4 p.m. Jan. 15 through April 30 in the Roland Dille Center for Arts room 167. This is a regular tuition course. Andy Stalboerger will be the instructor. This course will cover a variety of contemporary digital art. Students will learn digital painting skills that can apply to virtually any 2-D medium. Other topics to be covered include Corel Painter, Photoshop, picture making basics, and troubleshooting digital tools. Click headline for details.
