Ceramic artist to give slide lecture April 14

Winnipeg ceramic artist Chris Pancoe will lead a wood firing workshop at MSUM with ART 305 Technical Ceramics April 14-17. He will give a slide lecture at 9 a.m. Wednesday, April 14 in Center for the Arts room 165. It’s free and open to the public. These events are sponsored by The Solomon Comstock Foundation.

Jill Frederick presented at annual Easter conference

Jill Frederick, English, gave a presentation, “Ships and the Sea in the Exeter Book Riddles,” at the annual Easter conference held by the University of Manchester (England)’s Center for Anglo-Saxon Studies. This year’s theme, “The Anglo-Saxons and their World,” was attended by scholars from the United Kingdom, Europe and the U.S.

Ceramics class added to summer schedule

The Art and Design Department is offering a rare summer session ceramics option: Contemporary Ceramics and Studio Practices. This course is open to all level of ceramics experience from beginning to advanced, with a majority of the focus on furthering ceramic skills and techniques. Studio assignments will be unique to each student, and will culminate in a developed body of work. See summer registration for schedule details.

Spagammi Spaghetti Feed

On Thursday, April 15th at 5:00 PM the women of Gamma Phi Beta are hosting a spaghetti feed to raise money for our national charity, Camp Fire USA at the Gamma Phi Beta house. We would like to invite all MSUM students, faculty, and staff, as well as any persons in the community to join us.

Jazz Trumpet Virtuoso joins MSUM Jazz Ensemble April 22

World-renowned jazz trumpet virtuoso Marvin Stamm joins the MSUM Jazz Ensemble for an evening of great music on Thursday, April 22 at 7:30 p.m. in Hansen Theater. Tickets are $10 for adults and $5 for students with ID. MSUM students, faculty and staff can get free tickets up until the day of the show.
