The recent issue of The Minnesota Archaeologist (Volume 69) featured articles by two members of the Department of Anthropology and Earth Science. These articles are “Oneota in the Northeastern Plains” by George R. Holley and Michael G. Michlovic and “Geology and the Age of the Kensington Inscription” by Michael G. Michlovic.
Brian Wisenden, Biosciences, had an article accepted for publication by the peer-reviewed journal Functional Ecology. The title of the article is “Cognitive dysfunction and risk assessment by prey: predictable changes in global climate have unpredictable effects.”
The November economic forecast just released surprised many who were predicting a deficit to the tune of $500 million to $1 billion. However, the state economist is forecasting a surplus of $876 million for the rest of the 2012-2013 biennium. Bioscience graduates Cory Sailer and Sonny Radenic, both 2011, and Bioscience student Randy Sutrisno received final acceptance for publication for their research paper entitled “Maternal effects and exploratory-boldness behavioural syndrome in zebrafish.” The research was supervised by Brian Wisenden. Thus far, 62 undergraduates have co-authored peer-reviewed research papers with Wisenden.
