Springing from work done in Steve Grineski’s Ed. 310 class, art education major Marissa Van Vleet continued her social justice work by volunteering at Churches United for the Homeless on Saturday mornings running an art club for children. Van Vleet’s advisor Brad Bachmeier hopes to turn this into a sustainable program in the future. Read more in The Forum article.
The School of Business is hosting Dr. Zou Shaohui, a Visiting Scholar from Xi’an University of Science and Technology, China, for one year. Dr. Zou is totally funded by The China Scholarship Council’s Visiting Scholar Research Program. During his year at MSUM Dr. Zou will be working on collaborative research projects with our faculty and observing different teaching methods.
Erica Clark, an MSUM student studying elementary inclusive education, was presented with a framed Ethical Citizen Award in recognition of exemplary ethical behavior within the Fargo-Moorhead community. Thursday, Feb. 20 from 5-8 p.m. is the reception for an art exhibit featuring area university and college art faculty at the Kaddatz Gallery in Fergus Falls. The exhibit featuring work from Brad Bachmeier, Lauren Kinney, Jim Park, Sherry Short, Wil Shynkaruk, Kelli Sinner, Patrick Vincent and Chris Walla runs through March 29.
