Tropical field biology class heads to Costa Rica in the spring

Tropical Field Biology (Biol 335, LASC 10) is a field course about conservation biology: the bioecological, socio-econimic and politico-cultural aspects of balancing the conflicts demands between conserving biodiversity and human activity. Wallert invited to speak at RRV research symposium

Mark Wallert, Biosciences, was an invited speaker at the Sept. 12 Red River Valley Association of Clinical Research Professionals (ACRP) Research Symposium in Fargo. Wisenden is Wednesday’s Dille Lecturer

Brian Wisenden, Biosciences, is this year’s Dille speaker. His talk is entitled “Minnows and Cichlids and Worms! Oh My! The Behavioral ecology of predator avoidance as uncovered by undergraduate researchers”. The talk is Wednesday, Sept. 18 from 7 to 8 p.m. SL 118.  The talk is free and open to the public. Refreshments will be provided.    

Tri-Beta Plant Sale

Tri-Beta is holding a fall Plant Sale from Wednesday, Sept. 18 – Friday, Sept. 20. The sale runs from 9 a.m. – 4 p.m. each day in the Science Lab atrium. MSUM student awarded scholarship through Sanford Health

Taylor Oberlander, an MSUM medical laboratory science major was recently awarded a $1,000 Mary Jo Langenwalter Scholarship. This scholarship is available to medical laboratory science students interning at Sanford Health. The scholarship was established in memory of Mary Jo Langenwalter who was very active in the field of laboratory science and in charitable activities.
