Justin James, Tim Peil, and Wally Sizer, mathematics, joined over fifty other area mathematicians attending the fall North Central Section meeting of the Mathematical Association of America. The meeting was held Oct. 19 and 20 at the University of Minnesota Duluth. James, as a member of the executive committee, also attended the section officers’ meeting.
Several MSUM students presented at the 5th Red River Undergraduate Philosophy Conference at NDSU on Saturday, Oct. 20. The students and their paper titles included: Lance Pearson: “On the Potentiality and Structure of Indirect Realism” Jacob Hedlund: “On the Virtuous Prime Belief”
Dr. David Tack, Teaching & Learning, attended the Critical Questions in Education conference in Springfield, Miss. He presented his paper “There’s no one right way to teach a child! Using educational research to develop understandings of teaching for social justice.”
Merrie Sue Holtan, Communication Studies, presented a workshop session on intercultural communication for the Internationalization Managers at the University of Edinburgh, Edinburgh, Scotland.
Richard K. Adler, SLHS Department presented the annual fall lecture at the University of Minnesota Duluth for the Eddy Lecture Series, on Oct. 6, 2012. Richard K. Adler, SLHS Department was part of a panel discussion on voice therapy at the Canadian Professional Association for Transgender Health in Winnipeg, Manitoba on Sept. 22, 2012.
