Community Collage project provides free portraits April 17
Minnesota State Moorhead will host a pop-up photography session from 10:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. Friday, April 17, in the Comstock Memorial Union, providing free portraits to all Dragons who participate.
The photos are part of Community Collage, a multi-month portrait project happening this spring across the Fargo-Moorhead community resulting in large-scale murals and installations. Community Collage was created by Josh Madson, a celebrity photographer who will be speaking about his initiative at TEDxFargo in July.
Community Collage was founded on a simple but powerful belief that every person deserves to be seen. Participants step into immersive portrait studios where Madson captures striking black-and-white photographs in his signature style. Guests instantly select and receive their first two digital portraits onsite, free of charge.
MSUM’s photo session will be one of a handful of events in the area in April and May. Students, faculty, staff, and alumni are all invited to take part on April 17 and have their faces be featured among thousands of local residents.
