Maya Sohail Reflects on Transformative CU*iP Experience

Maya Sohail recently attended the Conference for Undergraduate Women and Gender Minorities in Physics (CU*iP), where she engaged in a series of enriching sessions and meaningful conversations with professionals across the field. Although a knee injury the week prior prevented her from presenting her research poster, Maya remained an active participant throughout the conference.

During the event, she connected with several accomplished physicists, gaining insight into their career paths, research experiences, and advice for aspiring scientists. These conversations provided valuable perspective on the diverse opportunities within physics and helped clarify potential future directions.

“The conference gave me a much clearer understanding of potential pathways in physics and strengthened my motivation to continue pursuing research,” Maya shared.

Despite the unexpected setback, Maya described the experience as deeply impactful and expressed gratitude for the support that made her attendance possible. She looks forward to continuing her research journey and hopes to present at future conferences.
