Moorhead’s new strategic framework webpage is live!

Over the past year, faculty, staff, and students helped shape the next chapter of Minnesota State Moorhead’s direction. Input gathered through campus discussions and surveys last spring informed the foundation of the framework, with leadership reviewing and refining priorities over the summer. The refreshed strategic framework was formally introduced during the fall President and Provost Welcome and State of the University addresses.

The framework is now available on a publicly accessible webpage: Minnesota State Moorhead Strategic Framework. The framework has also been designed as an 8.5×11 document that can be ordered through the marketing store.

What stayed the same?

  • The mission is unchanged, continuing to anchor our purpose and commitments.

What new?

  • A new aspirational vision replaces the previous purpose statement: To be a university that transforms potential, empowers purpose, and graduates the region’s most sought-after professionals.
  • Updated core values, with Curiosity replacing humility, reflecting our commitment to exploration, deep thinking and growth.
  • Two strategic cornerstones – Growth and Culture – serve as guiding principles that shape decisions and priorities across the university.
  • Four strategic pillars define our focus areas and drive measurable impact for students, the university, and the region.
    • Academic Relevance
    • Student Experience
    • Investing in Place
    • Regional Engagement
  • Strategic initiatives align with each pillar and will continue to evolve as new opportunities and priorities emerge.
