Kecia Peters honored by ND Association of School Psychologists

As part of National School Psychology Week (Nov. 3-7), the North Dakota Association of School Psychologists (NDASP) recognized the outstanding contributions of school psychologists and education leaders across North Dakota who empower students, families and educators for successful and individualized learning, growth and well-being.

Kecia Peters, who serves as the North Dakota Delegate to the National Association of School Psychologists (NASP), was recognized for developing comprehensive, research-based services that support the mental health and learning of all children, cultivating collaboration across state and national systems, and improving NDASP resources, training and advocacy initiatives. She is also the field experience site supervisor and liaison for the Psychology Department.

Kecia mentors emerging leaders, promotes culturally responsive and equitable practices, and ensures North Dakota’s voice is represented in NASP’s national governance and decision-making. Her leadership and commitment exemplify this year’s theme, “Finding Your Path,” helping strengthen advocacy, connection, and professional excellence that benefit students, families, and educators statewide.

Minnesota State Moorhead celebrates Kecia for being recognized by the NDASP, as she tirelessly advocates for equitable access to inclusive school psychological services, equips school psychologists across North Dakota, and acts on behalf of the state’s needs at a national level.
