Children’s Theatre at Minnesota State Moorhead

Minnesota State Moorhead is pleased to invite audiences to The Cafeteria Duckling on Saturday, November 22 at 2 p.m. in the Roland Dille Center for the Arts. Admission is free, but reservations are required and can be made online at www.mnstate.edu/tickets.

Welcome to North Shore Middle School, where lunch trays clatter, friendships shift like Jell-O on a plate, and everyone’s just trying to fit in. The Cafeteria Duckling is a funny, heartfelt reimagining of Hans Christian Andersen’s classic tale The Ugly Duckling—set in a world that every student will recognize.

This original 45-minute play explores themes of self-acceptance, individuality, and the courage to stand out. Designed especially for elementary audiences and performed by Minnesota State Moorhead’s students, The Cafeteria Duckling reminds us all that sometimes being different is exactly what makes you shine.
