Student-designed vinyl mural installed on Owens

A large-scale vinyl mural has been installed on the south side of Owens Hall, welcoming visitors, improving external branding, and adding an impactful photo backdrop to campus.

The 40- by 10-foot mural wraps from the south-facing wall onto the east facing wall, extending the length of the sidewalk up to the door. The design features Minnesota State Moorhead’s newest brand elements, outlines of recognizable campus landmarks, and iconography symbolic of the university experience.

Lindsey Nelsen, a graphic design major who works part-time as a student designer in the University Marketing & Communications office, designed the mural.

The material is meant specifically for use on exterior brick and is expected to last about three years. Additional vinyl installations featuring variations of the mural design will be added to the interior of Owens later this year.
