Speaker: Jon Bell-Clement
Title: Impacts of Learning Assistants on student learning and sense of belonging at MSUM
This week’s seminar will feature Jon Bell Clement, MSUM Learning Assistant (LA) Program Coordinator (2023–2025). The MSUM LA Program is using surveys to investigate how Learning Assistants affect undergraduate education. Are students more successful in courses that utilize LAs? Do LAs help foster a stronger sense of community and belonging on campus? Can they strengthen student–instructor relationships? Jon will share the most recent survey results and discuss what they reveal about the impact of the LA Program at MSUM.
The FREE seminar series offers a relaxed setting for sharing reports on student experiences, including research projects, summer internships, and student organization activities.
The seminar will be presented in person, and snacks will be provided. For those who cannot attend in person, the seminar will also be available on Zoom:
