Butler is Guest Speaker at Minnesota Archaeological Society Annual Meeting
Dr. Amanda Butler of Anthropology and Earth Science, was invited to give the evening lecture at this year’s Minnesota Archaeological Society Annual Meeting held in September. She presented on her ongoing research regarding a Cahokian religious movement. This research examines interactions at the periphery of the Mississippian world to better understand the founding and expansion of a religious movement that began at the pan-Indigenous city of Cahokia, a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
