NASA internships topic of Jan. 28 physics seminar
“NASA Internships and the Skills Needed to Succeed” is the topic of a physics seminar by MSUM student Tyler Lane on Friday, January 28 from 2:30-3:20 p.m. in Hagen 325.
What’s the next step after graduating from college – get a job! There are opportunities for getting networked and gain some work-related experiences at major companies like Shell and NASA, you just have to look and apply. NASA is not just for space and flight. There are research and testing facilities for just about anything in the science, technology, engineering, and math fields. Biotechnology, geology, biology, chemistry, mechanics, aerospace engineering, are just a few.
The National Community College Aerospace Scholars (NCAS) program was a great opportunity for me to network, meet new people, complete a project in a team setting under a short timeline, and learn about other opportunities at NASA. The Shell Eco Marathon competition was an insightful and an inspirational experience that helped me to develop work-related skills especially, working as a team. Let me tell you about how my team used science, technology, engineering and math skills to design and create a high-mileage car for a national competition, and the lessons learned from working in a team. There are opportunities out there for anybody, you just have to look for them and go for it.
