Navy Week makes a Port of Call at Minnesota State University Moorhead
Minnesota State University Moorhead will host the Navy Band Great Lakes, Horizon Rock Band, at noon Wednesday, July 24, for a concert in front of the Livingston Lord Library on the campus mall. The concert is free and open to the public. In the event of rain, the concert will take place in the Hansen Theatre in the MSUM Center for the Arts.
“We are the second oldest official band of the United States Navy, and we are looking forward to performing here on campus,” said Lieutenant Commander Christopher Cornette, Director of the Navy Band Great Lakes.
Fargo Navy Week takes place July 22-28, 2024, bringing Sailors from across the fleet to the area to emphasize the importance of the Navy to Fargo, the state of North Dakota, and the nation. There will be events all over the Fargo-Moorhead area in conjunction with the Fargo AirSho, featuring the U.S. Navy Flight Demonstration Squadron, the Blue Angels. More than 50 Sailors will participate in education and community outreach events throughout the city.

The Navy Band Great Lakes has free scheduled performances at the Fargo AirSho opening ceremony, MSU Moorhead, Red River Valley Zoo, and Red River Market, as well as other venues throughout the week.
Fargo Navy Week is one of 15 Navy Weeks in 2024, a weeklong series of engagements designed to bring America’s Navy closer to the people it protects. Each year, the program reaches more than 130 million people – about half the U.S. population.
