Italian pianist to present masterclass and recital at MSU Moorhead Feb. 6

Pianist Fabio Menchetti will present a free masterclass at MSUM on Tuesday, Feb. 6, from noon to 1 p.m. and at 7:30 p.m. that evening, he will present a recital performing works by Mozart, Beethoven, Kenyon and Chopin, both in the Roland Dille Center for the Arts Fox Recital Hall.

Tickets for the recital, $10-Adults, $8- Seniors/Students and free to MSUM students, are available at mnstate.edu or can be purchased at the door.

A native of Lucca, Italy, Menchetti is an assistant professor of piano at Washington State University (WSU) while maintaining an active performance career. He is also the coordinator of the Piano Pedagogy Laboratory School at WSU, where his college students gain teaching experience and, through directed mentoring, are trained to become the next generation of piano teachers.

Menchetti has performed in many Italian cities – Florence, Bologna, Lucca, La Spezia, Parma, and Torino – as well as in Poland, France, and Germany. He has performed as a soloist with orchestras in Italy and the U.S. and regularly concertizes throughout the United States as a soloist and a chamber musician.
