Sabbatical Leave Applications 2024-2025
Applications for 2024-2025 sabbatical leaves are due to department chairs by the end of the day October 31. The sabbatical application form is available on the Academic Affairs website at
https://www.mnstate.edu/mymsum/academic-affairs/reference/
A faculty member wishing to apply for a sabbatical should forward his/her completed sabbatical application to their department chair. After reviewing the application and consulting with the department, where applicable, the chair should forward the sabbatical application to their dean no later than November 10.
The granting of sabbatical leave shall be contingent upon the President’s determination that funds are available for this purpose and the staffing requirements of the university can be met. Information regarding the sabbatical process and eligibility are detailed in Article 19, Section C, of the 2021-2023 Master Agreement between Minnesota State Board of Trustees and Inter Faculty Organization. A copy of that agreement is posted on the MSUM Human Resources website at
https://www.mnstate.edu/human-resources/labor-relations/
If a sabbatical is granted, the faculty member will provide a sabbatical report to the appropriate dean by November 1, 2026 (the year after the sabbatical leave).
