Faculty and staff attend MnEEP Regional Convening
The Minnesota Education Equity Partnership (MnEEP) Regional Convening was held last week at Concordia College. Faculty and staff from MSUM that attended included Nandita Bezbaruah, Social Work; Keri DeSutter, Special Education; Caitlin Johnson, Leadership and Learning; Steve Lindaas, Physics and Astronomy and Zinnia Marquette, Office of Diversity and Inclusion. MnEEP works across the state with communities and people interested in and or already doing the work to advance race equity in our higher education systems.
“Race equity in higher education means the humanity of POCI (People of Color & Indigenous) students is honored, celebrated and all POCI students are included in all educational spaces. I hope many, if not all of you are able to continue these conversations and be connected to one another. Your voice is critical in building practices and policies for a more racially just higher education system in Minnesota.” Ikram Mohamud, College Racial Equity Initiative Coordinator.
MnEEP will be hosting a State-Wide Convening on Race Equity on Tuesday, April 25th from 9-2pm in the twin cities. If you are are interested in learning more signup to receive the MnEEP newsletter.
