Black History Month Book Discussion: Lift Your Voice
Join us at the Library Porch (LI 100) for light refreshments and a discussion of “Lift Your Voice: How My Nephew George Floyd’s Murder Changed the World” by Angela Harrelson.
From the publisher: “Lift Your Voice is a memoir of faith, hope, and bravery, of what we all—Black and white—need to do to eradicate racism from our society. It’s a story of tragic loss and a worldwide uprising to ensure Floyd’s death ushers society into a time where people are no longer judged, hated, or killed because of the color of their skin.”
Free copies of the book will be available at the Library Circulation Desk on a first come, first serve basis. In our discussion, we will be utilizing the ground rules from the University Corporation for Atmospheric Research: https://www.ucar.edu/who-we-are/diversity-inclusion/community-resources/ground-rules-tools. All interested readers are welcome!
