NURSING RECEIVES $10,000 GRANT FROM DAKOTA MEDICAL FOUNDATION

MSUM has received a $10,000 grant from Dakota Medical Foundation to support its Nursing program.
MSUM’s School of Nursing and Healthcare Leadership consists of three departments that offer complementary coursework leading to the Bachelor of Science degree in Nursing (BSN), Community Health (BS), or Health Services Administration (BS).
MSUM’s Nursing department offers several degree options: The RN to BSN track is for individuals who are licensed registered nurses (RN) with a diploma or associate degree and wish to earn a baccalaureate degree; the BSN track is a three-year program that prepares students to meet the requirements to take the national licensing examination; the master of science with a major in nursing prepares professional registered nurses for a specialty role as a nurse educator or an adult health clinical nurse specialist; and the doctor of nursing practice is a collaborative program for nurses with a master’s degree in nursing who wish to gain the advanced clinical, organizational, economic, and leadership competencies necessary in an increasingly complex healthcare environment.
Dakota Medical Foundation, Fargo, N.D., focuses its efforts on improving health and access to medical and dental care in the region, with a special emphasis on children. Since 1996, the Foundation has invested over $34 million to over 300 nonprofit organizations in the region. For more information, see www.dakmed.org.
