Library reminders for spring semester

On January 29, the Library will update many of its online systems. These updates will result in a new Dragon OneSearch search interface with improved usability across devices. The older versions of the library catalog will cease to exist after the migration. Library employees have already begun work on this migration. We hope to move forward with minimal inconvenience to Minnesota State University Moorhead students, faculty, and staff. However, this migration will impact the way you search for library materials, your online Library account, and any links you may have saved in the Library catalog.

Very important issues to be aware of:

  • If you have static URLs pointing toward the Library’s current catalog, PALS, those links will be broken. A little later this semester, some electronic database links might be broken. If you are having ANY issues with your links, contact Stacy Voeller (voeller@mnstate.edu or 2348) or Travis Dolence (travis.dolence@mnstate.edu or 2358). This will have some impact on links in D2L as well. As we receive updated information on this, we will share with the campus community.
  • There will also be an impact on Course Reserves. New reserves will not be able to be loaded in the new library system until the first week of February. We have an internal workaround for items that need to be used during the first three weeks of Spring Semester. If you have questions about reserves, please contact Cori Edgerton (reserves@mnstate.edu or 2342) if you have any questions or comments.
  • Interlibrary Loan will be unavailable from approximately January 25-29. If your ILL materials need to be renewed or you have questions, please contact Wendy Gibson (wendy.gibson@mnstate.edu or 2924).
  • Between January 25-29, library patrons will not be able to log into their library accounts online to view or renew checked out items, or place hold requests on new items. Course reserves will also not be searchable in the online catalog until after migration is complete, but they will be available for student use as usual. If patrons would like to renew or request an item, just stop by the Circulation Desk or please contact Erin Balerud (erin.balerud@mnstate.edu or 2354).
