Welcome New Dragons!
We have to be honest, Dragon Days are our favorite days of the year. Seriously, what’s not to love about meeting new Dragons and their families? During a Dragon Day, each student gets to experience a little taste of what life will be like at MSUM–and we must commend our colleagues in First Year Programs (FYP) for the fantastic job they do coordinating everything! It’s not easy to make all the sessions run smoothly.
Every part of the day is awesome, from the welcome by President Edna to the MSUM Mythbusters Session that helps students learn from faculty what’s fact and what’s fiction about taking classes as a Dragon. Then our FYP friends keep things rolling with sessions about leadership, careers, registering for classes, and life as a Dragon. To say the least, it’s impressive and informative. Then it’s on to lunch, a student panel, and the resource fair! (Look for the CMU’s booth and learn about all we’ve got to offer!)
With so much of the activity happening in the CMU, we get to see everything first-hand and often lend a helping hand. Dragon Days are plenty busy, but also plenty of fun as we get to meet and help so many new Dragons. We can’t wait for August when all the Dragons will be here for Orientation!
