The five open forums for the Dean of the College of Science, Health, and the Environment finalists have been scheduled as follows:

The following is each candidate’s brief biography.
Dr. Jeff Bodwin is currently the Interim Dean of the College of Science, Health, and the Environment at Minnesota State University Moorhead. He served as the Acting Dean of the College for the 2014-2015 academic year. Dr. Bodwin joined MSUM as a faculty member in the Chemistry Department in 2003 and served as the Chemistry Department Chair for four years. He received his Ph.D. in Chemistry, Inorganic from the University of Michigan, Ann Arbor.
Dr. Elizabeth Nawrot is currently Professor of Psychology and the Director of University Honors Program at Minnesota State University Moorhead. She joined MSUM as a faculty member in the Psychology Department in 1997 and served as the Researcher and Supervisor at the MSUM Child Development Lab. Prior to her arrival at MSUM, Dr. Nawrot was an Assistant Professor at North Dakota State University for two years and a Visiting Assistant Professor at Cornell College for three years. She received her Ph.D. in Psychology from the University of California, Berkeley.
Dr. Scott Searcy has an extensive administrative experience. He served as Assistant Vice President of Academic Affairs at Northwest Kansas Technical College. Dr. Searcy was Vice President of Academic Affairs for three years, Dean of Assessment and Accreditation for two years, Faculty Chair for one year, Associate Academic Dean of Assessment for four years, Natural Science Division Chair for three years, and Chair of Math Department for two years at Waldorf University. Prior to his tenure at Waldorf University, he served as Chair of the Math Department for three years at Bay de Noc Community College as well. Dr. Searcy finished his doctorate in Mathematics at Idaho State University.
Dr. Ellen Fagerstrom is currently Professor of Mathematics and Chair of the Math Department at Minnesota State University Moorhead. She joined MSUM as Assistant Professor in the Mathematics Department in 2001 and served as Department Chair for the fall semester of 2012 and has been serving as Chair again since the fall semester of 2014. Dr. Fagerstrom also has been serving as the Faculty Athletic Representative since fall 2010 and served as the Interim Math Learning Center Director from 2011 to 2012. She received her Ph.D. in Mathematical Physics from Indiana University, Bloomington.
Dr. Cathleen Webb has been serving as Associate Dean for Research at Western Kentucky University, Ogden College of Science and Engineering since 2012. She also was the Department Head in the Department of Chemistry for 12 years from 2003 to 2015. Prior to her tenure at Western Kentucky University, she was an Assistant Professor from 1990 to 1996 and an Associate Professor from 1996 to 2001 in the Department of Chemistry and Chemical Engineering at South Dakota School of Mines and Technology. Dr. Webb received her Ph.D. in Physical Chemistry from the University of Washington.
