Transfer Pathways
In Fall 2015, MnSCU launched its Transfer Pathways initiative as a way to address known difficulties experienced by students wishing to bring an associate’s degree to a MnSCU university in order to complete a four-year degree. Yes, as you can imagine, in a system with 31 institutions, students have experienced difficulties in the transfer process; additionally, the Minnesota Legislature that we seek solutions. This initiative will affect many academic programs in some manner, so I invite you to familiarize yourself with the overall initiative and its staggered rolling-out process of specific academic pathways for transfer students.
The attached summary sheet details the initiative and provides names and contact information of MSUM faculty and administrators involved in Transfer Pathways. Please consider being involved in the review and feedback loop so that MnSCU gathers all relevant information and insights into the design and implementation of each pathway.
MnSCU has provided further details at www.asa.mnscu.edu/transfer/pathways. Currently, pathways are being designed for Biology, Business, Psychology, and Theatre. Statewide Discipline Stakeholders Meetings will be held this spring; please offer suggestions and insights to the MSUM faculty and staff who are involved in the overall Transfer Pathways initiative.
