Several MSUM students presenting at second annual Posters at St. Paul today

Several MSUM students will be presenting their mentored undergraduate research at the second annual Posters at St. Paul on Thursday, February 26th. Students will meet with their state legislators and showcase the research going on at Minnesota State Colleges and Universities.

Darcy Smith, Oleana Herron, Linnea Elizabeth Dahlquist, Angella Voravong, Carra Strader, and Bret Salter (Department of Anthropology and Earth Science) will present “Complimentary, Necessary Parts of a Whole: The Gendered World of the Meskwaki, 1640-2013. They are mentored by Erik Gooding.”

Whitney Swanson and Molly Strong (Department of Chemistry and Biochemistry) will present “Evaluating the Phosphorylation of the Na+- H+ Exchanger Isoform 1 to Identify Potential Therapeutic Targets for the Treatment of Lung Cancer.” They are mentored by Mark. A Wallert.

Isaak Skalsky (Department of Chemistry and Biochemistry) will present “The Link Between Science Fair Participation and Higher MCA III Science Scores, with Strategies to Increase Alignment of Science Fair with Minnesota Standards.” He is mentored by Richard Lahti.
