Ted Gracyk, Philosophy, to present colloquium on “What Is Popular Music?” Nov. 12
Dr. Ted Gracyk, Philosophy, is going to present his colloquium with the topic “What Is Popular Music?” in MacLean Hall 273, Wednesday November 12 at 4:30 pm. His talk will make the third meeting of this year’s Colloquium Series of the MSUM Philosophy Department. All are welcome. Refreshments will be served.
The following is a brief description of his colloquium: “When we characterize some music as popular music, what are we contrasting it with? Unpopular music? “Good” music? This talk is an exploration of why we characterize some music as popular music, followed by an analysis of the core concept.”
