Guswelle Named RMAC Swimmer of the Week
COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. – Senior swimmer Ann Guswelle of Minnesota State University Moorhead has been named the Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference Swimmer of the Week. This was announced Wed., Dec. 9 by the league office.
Guswelle finished in second place in the 100-yard breaststroke behind an NCAA DI swimmer from Minnesota, touching the wall in 1:04.87. It was the fastest time recorded this season among all of NCAA DII. Guswelle finished sixth in the 200-yard breaststroke in a time of 2:26.08. She als ahd speedy times in teh 200 individual medley (2:15.43) and 100-yard freestyle (56.88).
This was the second time this year that Guswelle was named the Swimmer of the Week, the first time being the first week of competition. Her time in the 100-yard breaststroke automatically qualified her for the NCAA DII National Championships.
The Dragons will continue competition in St. Petersburg, Fla. on Jan. 2 as they will face Northern State (S.D.).
