Cinema Arts and Digital Technologies is excited to hold its first biennial Spring Forward speakers panel. With a focus on the latest trends and ideas in the media arts, you’ll get the opportunity to hear first hand about professional conferences and topics in the fields of interactive multimedia, film and theater. We’ll explore how these developments relate to a cross-disciplinary approach to education. Students, faculty and the public are all invited to attend. Topics will include:

SXSW – Interactive
Dean Tim Borchers will report back on his experiences at the country’s most popular interactive festival, and discuss how we can teach our students to develop meaningful ideas about content.

USITT – Theater Tech
Mike Ruth and Ricky Greenwell share both theatrical and graphic perspectives from this year’s conference on theater technology.

MinneWebCon – Web Design and Development
Alex Fogarty and GCOM alumni Shannon Luney discuss how visual learners can open themselves up to creative coding and web development.

CADT and Popular Culture
Tony Adah shares his experience with two regional popular culture conferences and discusses their relevance to CADT students.
