Students showcase research at state and MSUM academic conferences

To be held at MSUM April 14 and 15

MSUM is excited to welcome MnSCU universities and community colleges to the third annual Minnesota Conference of Undergraduate Scholarly and Creative Activity April 14.

For the second straight year, all seven of the MnSCU universities (Minnesota State University – Mankato, Minnesota State University Moorhead, Winona State University, Southwest Minnesota State University, St. Cloud State University, Bemidji State University and Metropolitan State University) are sending students to participate in this conference. In addition, Inver Hills Community College is also arriving with a large contingent of students. About 130 students from across the state are expected to attend.

More than 350 MSUM students will present their research at the annual MSUM Student Academic Conference the following day.

The student research projects cover a variety of topics, from high-protein diets to the effects of cortisol levels in fish. Whether your interests lie in science or theatre, history or economics, the wide array of issues students present on at the Student Academic Conference is a major highlight of our academic year.

MSUM faculty advised and mentored the student research projects. MSUM prides itself on faculty-student engagement, and giving students the opportunity to conduct research at the undergraduate level.
